Exhibited

London, Whitechapel Art Gallery, Prunella Clough: a retrospective exhibition, September - October 1960, cat. no.127 (ill.in b/w pl.XIV)

Condition

The canvas is unlined and is in good condition. There are two small scratches to the paint surface in the upper right quadrant, one approximately 5cm. and one 1cm. in length. There are some white specks of paint in the lower right quadrant but these appear to be integral to the work. Examination under ultra-violet light reveals some fluorescence in the lower right quadrant surrounding the signature, although the signature itself does not fluoresce. Held in a wooden frame with a canvas cross section.
