Condition

The work is on wove paper which has been laid down onto canvas. The right edge of the sheet appears to be deckled, whilst the upper and left edges appear uneven. The edges of the corners are slightly creased and dirty. There is an artist's pinhole in the centre of the upper edge. There is a tiny crease just below the artist's pinhole where pressure appears to have been placed on the reverse of the sheet, presumably before it was laid down. The paint surface is in good overall condition. There is no sign of retouching under ultra-violet light. Held behind glass in a simple painted rectilinear frame with a white slip.
