Original canvas, there is a Venetian landscape on the reverse. There are some minor spots of surface staining, notably a spot of mould to the left of the red & orange flower in the brown vase, a further spot in the upper left corner and one by the centre right edge. There is a minor area of light blooming by the centre right edge and the work would benefit from a light clean. Otherwise in excellent original condition with strong passages of impasto throughout. Under ultra violet light, there appear to be no signs of retouching. Held in a simple painted wood frame under glass; unexamined out of frame. The colours are slightly warmer and more vibrant than the catalogue illustration suggests, notably the yellow tones of the jug on the right.
