Condition

Original canvas. There are a few strokes of inpainting to the foreground in the lower part of the work visible under ultraviolet light, otherwise overall the paint surface is in very good condition with rich colours throughout. Held in a decorative plaster moulded gilt frame.

The present work is one of a series of  three paintings depicting apple orchards that Carlos Schwabe painted in Normandy in 1912 when he was staying at the home of his friend the writer Léon Letellier.
