Catalogue Note
Klinger created his polychromed marble, alabaster, onyx and bronze figure of Kassandra in 1895. It was exhibited in Leipzig and Berlin the following year and is now in the Leipzig Museum (inv. no. P26). After 1903 Klinger authorised the Gladenbeck foundry to cast the model in bronze in a variety of sizes. The present cast is a rare life-size version.
