Condition

The panel is sound. There are some minor spots of retouching to the left edge of the work, to the lady's left shoulder and left cheek visible under ultraviolet light. There is a small area of fine craquelure to the lady's right arm and a pinhead-sized spot of paint loss in the centre background, otherwise the paint surface is in good overall condition. This work may benefit from a light surface clean. Held in a simple wooden frame.
