Condition
The panel is sound. There are a few small strokes of cosmetic retouching scattered throughout the background and some small flecks to the figures, notably to the dress of the seated girl and to the gentleman's left shoulder and arm. Apart from a rather thick varnish layer the paint surface is overall in good condition. The colours are stronger than they appear in the catalogue illustration. Held in a decorative plaster moulded gilt wood frame.
