Condition
The painting was rilined.
From a first hand inspection there are two losses of pigments in the sky over the sailing boats, other small ones along the top edge on the left and right-hand corners, and along the lower edge on the left-hand side. There is a thick layer of dust and varnish darkened.
The ultra violet light reveals retouches over losses of pigments in the right-hand side of the sky due to an incorrect ironing, another along the horizon line and the top left-hand corner. The signature is coeval.
The painting needs a careful cleansing and consolidation.
