Overall in good condition. Nozzles drilled for electricity. Overall with extensive traces of rubbing and losses to gilding as visible in the catalogue illustration.

Jules Graux-Marly operated a small foundry known as Graux-Marly Frères. The firm exhibited at the 1878 Paris Exhibition and was well respected for their figurative sculptures as well as decorative ornaments. Although castings by Graux-Marly are relatively rare on the market, a mantle clock "Pendule a la gloire du Roi" sold in these rooms, April 19, lot 31, for $102,000.
