Catalogue Note
This bronze depicts the Twelfth Labor of Hercules in which he captured Cerberus, the three-headed dog which guarded the underwold. Rancoulet was born in Bordeaux and participated at the Salon for a number of years starting in 1870. He is know for works cast in bronze and, interestingly, in rather limited casting editions.
