A monumental gilt-bronze and onyx SÈvres style cobalt blue ground lidded vase and its companion pedestal
French, circa 1890
both signed Maxant, the vase painted all around with a figure of the cloudbourne Aurora seated on a chariot drawn by two winged female companions, the lid with pseudo Sèvres marks, the pedestal painted with frolicking putti to the front and a musical trophy to the back.
