mahogany, kingwood bandings, fruitwood marquetry on sycamore veneers, the D-shape brèche violette marble top above two drawers inlaid sans traverse, the marquetry panel depicting a nature morte scene, flanked on each side by cherubs emblematic of Bienfaisance and Justice, the rounded sides each fitted with a cupboard door flanked respectively by figures emblematic of Courage, Force, Prudence and Tempérence.
