a monumental Neoclassical style gilt bronze spherical clock
paris, circa 1860
the clock raised on a palm and cast as a globe with Roman numeral enamel cabochons for the hours, enclosed within a celestial ring with the months and astrological enamel plaques, three classically draped Roman dieties before it, all raised on an oval spreading base with a berried laurel collar terminating on four acanthus scroll cast sabot, the back with inventory number A.G.1252 printed twice in black ink and printed with 20.C.Fox 32(?)2.19987, the underside painted in white with similar A.G. 1252 inventory number.
