veneered in satiné with kingwood banding and Chinese coromandel lacquered panels, the D-shaped brèche violette molded marble top above two frieze drawers and two cupboard doors fitted with one shelf and flanked by a further curved cupboard fitted with one shelf, the doors and frame in solid mahogany.
Catalogue Note
The technique of this exquisite Chinese Coromandel lacquer decoration consists of applying to the board a thick paste ground, called Urushi, into which the chosen pictoral design is carved and then filled with colored lacquer pigmented pastes.
