Catalogue Note

The chenets derive from a model made between 1745-1749, bearing the inscription Antoine Moreau, conserved in the Musée du Louvre (inv. 0A 9515-0A 9516), gift of René Fribourg, illustrated, D. Alcouffe, A. Dion-Tennenbaum, G. Mabille, Gilt Bronzes in the Louvre, Dijon, 2004, pp. 64-65.  It is noted that this model echoes the great Rococo sculpture which was created during that period of the 18th century for gardens and fountains.
