a large french gilt-bronze troubadour revival mantle clock
Paris, circa 1830s
of architectural form, the clock case surmounted with a seated monkey on a urn finial and flanked by a male and female standing figure, the enamel cartouche 'rose window' dial beneath a grotesque mask, each side with female musician figures, the pierced-foliate base centered by a mask and a hound and a fox to the sides, the movement stamped CHRISTOPHLE/ A PARIS within an oval and Douillon.
