A KPM porcelain painted plaque
Berlin, late 19/early 20th century

both figures within a 19th century interior seated by a fireplace, the priest reading a journal and the owner of the house smoking a pipe during a pause in their chess game, two cats by their side, the reverse with impressed KPM beneath a spectre and the letter W and incised measurement, and inscribed in red ink Die Enzwieden Schovehsyieler/Germany and paper label for the retailer Frank Hershede, Cincinnati.
