Condition

Thoroughbreds with their Foals: Original canvas. There are three thin adjoining lines of infilling in the sky (addressing craquelure caused by the stretcher), some scattered strokes to the horse lying down to the left of the work and a few scattered specks in the sky. Apart from some faint craquelure, the paint surface is overall in good condition. Held in a simple gilt wood frame. Foals in a Paddock: Original canvas. There is an area of retouching towards the centre of the sky, corresponding to a repair in the canvas, a few scattered specks of retouching in the sky and to the two brown horses, and a stroke of retouching in the fence towards the lower right corner visible under ultraviolet light. Apart from some faint craquelure, the paint surface is overall in good conditon. Held in a simple gilt wood frame.
