Provenance

From the family of the painter Christiaan Cornelis Kannemans (1812-1884), who was a friend of Petrus van Schendel

Condition

The left and right edges of the panel have been retouched, due to frame abrasion. Thinly filled-in craquelure near the lower right corner, below the sailing ship. A few minor retouches in the dark foreground on the left and in the lower part of the three right poles of the lighthouse. Thinly filled-in craquelure along the left edge of the panel and in the main sail of the boat on the left. Would benefit from cleaning, otherwise in good condition.
