Catalogue Note

This work presents a lively view of a Paris boulevard. Numerous theaters and cafés in the background are bustling as crowds gather on the street and wait in line to see performances at the Théâtre Imperial, Théâtre des Folies, and other venues. This work was painted after Adolphe-Martial Potement’s work from 1862 which is now in the Musée Carnavalet in Paris.
