The bronze is in good condition. There are some specks of green throughout bronze. There is surface dirt consistent with age.

Catalogue Note
Unlike the traditional allegorical and mythological subjects revered by the Salon, Bouchard's favourite subjects before the First World War were labourers of all types. The present work is an excellent example of his ability to capture both the movement of the individual subject and the details of her surroundings.
