20 leaves, (fragments and remnants of bifolia) from a number of manuscripts including (a) vertical strip from a Breviary leaf, 225mm. by c.55–160mm., 27 lines in brown ink in a fine early gothic hand, with 2 lines of neumes, rubrics and initials in red, Germany, c.1100, (b) upper part of a horizontally bisected leaf from a noted Missal, 240mm. by 110mm., double column, 10 lines in black ink in a very fine gothic hand, with musical notation on verso, rubrics and initials in red, Germany, c.1200, (c) trimmed bifolium from a Missal, with loss to lower border and one column of text, 238mm. by 325mm., double column, 32 lines in brown ink in a fine early gothic hand, rubrics and initials in red, some initials 3 to 6 lines in height and of good quality, Germany, early thirteenth century, (d) complete bifolium from a legal treatise, 433mm. by 248mm., double column, 82 lines in a small precise gothic hand, contemporary marginalia, initials in alternate red and blue with contrasting penwork, paragraph marks in alternate red and blue, running book-numbers in alternate red and blue, somewhat rubbed on outer sides, and with small cut to upper margin and wear hole in first leaf; in total, 7 leaves with musical notation, 9 from non-musical liturgical texts, 3 from legal texts, and a single vernacular German land-document, all recovered from bindings, some very defective
