nickel lever movement, 27 jewels, glucydur balance, adjusted to 5 positions and temperature, ivory-colored matte dial, luminescent triangular, dot and baton indexes, magnified aperture for date, luminescent Mercedes-style hands, sweep seconds, bezel calibrated for 24 hours with red triangular indicator hand, tonneau water-resistant-type case with screw-down crown and screw back, case, dial and movement signed, with stainless steel Rolex Oyster bracelet and deployant clasp.

This model, Ref. 16550, was first launched by Rolex in 1985. The ivory-colored dial on the present example is a rarer variation originally available on this model. Ultimately Rolex would standardize the model and sell only the black dial, thus making such ivory-colored examples more collectible.
