Catalogue Note

Breguet began producing this model, the 'Type XX', around the time of World War II as a heavy-duty chronograph watch for military use. Its black dial and large sized numerals were typical of such watches.

The present lot is an edition of this model produced in the 1970s. Today, Breguet has the Type XX Aeronavale and Transatlantique (see lots 163 and 275 in this sale) in its current production line. These watches are the modern-day versions of the present lot.
