Catalogue Note

Patek Philippe launched the model, Ref. 1593, in 1944. It would go on to become one of the most recognizable watches the company produced. This model is sometimes called the 'hour-glass' and is especially rare in platinum with diamond-set dial.

The case of this watch was made by Markowski, one of the finest case makers in Geneva. For more information on that firm, see the note on lot 297.

For a similar example, see Huber & Banbery, Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Vol. 2, Second Edition, p. 128, pl.177.
