Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of this watch in 1950 and its subsequent sale on December 8th of that year.

The Extract states that the watch originated with a black dial with applied gold indexes.

This model, Ref. 1578, was launched in 1943. It is a cousin to the well known oversized chronograph, Ref. 1579, released in the same year, which shares the same diameter and unusual lug design.
