Catalogue Note

This model, Ref. 556, was first launched in 1938 along with its cousin, Ref 555. The biggest difference between the two models is that the hooded lugs on the Ref. 555 are smooth and round, whereas the lugs on the Ref. 556 are fluted, thus making it appear slightly more rectangular.

Fewer than 10 examples of this reference are known to have appeared in the market in recent years. The present example's rarity is further enhanced by its two-tone case.
