Catalogue Note

Accompanied by fitted original box and a letter from the President of Peru, dated 1932.

Luis Miguel Sánchez Cerro was the President of the Republic of Peru from 1931-1933, after a coup d'etat put him in power. This watch was given as a token of appreciation for the care he received from Dr. Ernesto Delgado of Lima.

The letter, written on Presidential stationary, is dated April 27th, 1932. It is interesting to note that President Cerro would be assassinated one year later, on April 30th, 1933.
