Catalogue Note

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of this watch in 1922 and its subsequent sale on April 9th, 1937.

This model is considered a driver's watch, as its horizontal shape allows it to be worn on the side of the wrist. The dial is easily visible when one's hands are on a steering wheel.

It is interesting to note that the case for this watch was produced by Markowski, one of the finest case makers in Geneva. The firm was well respected for making unusually shaped watches.

For a similar example of this model with a similar dial, see Huber & Banbery, Patek Philippe Wristwatches, Vol. 2, Second Edition, p. 119, pl. 163.
