Two Kuba Lidded Boxes

the larger of the two of oblong form with interlocking incised motifs overall, the lid with an abstract hand; finely worn surface and reddish brown patina. The smaller one of hollowed, slender rectangular form, the inside coated with red camwood powder, the sides and lid elaborately incised with typical interlocking motifs and inserted brass tacks, the lid with a figurative torso carved in high relief; finely worn, aged dark to reddish brown patina overall.
