Catalogue Note
The sober elegance of this screen is inspired by English furniture of the late 18th century. A nearly identical 18th century screen, (fig.1), is in Elizavetta Alexievna's room in the Pushkin town Museum, formerly Tsarskoe Selo, illustrated in N. N.
