Catalogue Note

According to Ulla Tillander-Godenhielm (The Russian Imperial Award System during the Reign of Nicolas II, 1894-1917, Helsinki, 2005, pp. 196-7), very few Imperial Presentation rings have survived.  Most were produced by Hahn and Morozov and, from 1911 to 1917, by Carl Blank.  Fabergé examples are rarer; the author illustrates one, by Thieleman, plate 72.  As gifts, they were especially popular during the time of the Tercentenary in 1913 and ranged in price from 30 to 530 roubles.
