the body of the cup decorated with silhouette portraits of Alexander Pavlovich and his mother Maria Feodrovna, floral garland swags, the saucer with crowned monogram AP in Cyrillic for Alexander Pavlovich, within ribbon-tied circular frame, bordered by further garland swags, the domed cover with similar ornament and bud finial, with blue Imperial cypher for Catherine II
