Catalogue Note

Anthony Collins, an Etonian and Kingsman, close friend of John Locke and supporter of John Toland, is one of the most important free-thinkers of the early eighteenth century, and these two pamphlets are of great importance in the development of his thought.

This reprint of the 1546 English Primer (STC 16044) is discussed by Hoskins no. 262, who lists copies at the BL, Bodley and Lambeth Palace.
