A solid Manju of lobed kydney form, carved in relief with the child Yoko facing up to a threatening tiger beside a pine tree, some pine needles inlaid with aogai.

Catalogue Note

Yoko was the Chinese paragon of filial peity Yang Hiang who, when he was fourteen years of age, saved his father from a tiger which sprang upon them, the child being killed by the beast.
