The hare lying, its head lowered onto its extended fore legs and its ear drawn in, forming a compact composition, the well patinated ivory slightly worn.

Catalogue Note

The signature on a metal insert is unusual and may indicate that the Netsuke has been restored by Minkoku. However, apart from score marks and age cracks, there appears to be no other damage.
