Description

  • Signed in an oval reserve Yoshitomo
  • Ivory, the carp's eyes inlaid   
  • 7.9cm., 3 1/8 in.
The sennin seated astride the giant fish and smiling as he reads a calligraphic scroll, his robe engraved with scrolling kiku and formal designs; the lightly stained ivory bears a good patina.
