  • Signed in an oval reserve Basui
  • Wood, the eyes inlaid
  • 4.5cm., 1 3/4 in.
The turtle is shown almost completely hidden within its shell, its head just emerging and turned to the right whilst its flippers are drawn back.  The carapace is particularly well defined and carved in high relief.
