Catalogue Note

The delicately drawn tsakali depicts Balsojidungtsetsan, one of thirteen Bon religious teachers offering instruction in the intermediate state between death and rebirth. Compare the posture and minimum of clothing with the bodhisattvas flanking the Jucker Amitabha, lot 48 above. Compare other Bon tsakli; see Kvaerne, 2001, pp. 130-1, pls. 45.1-2, 48.
