Catalogue Note
Executed circa 1935 - 40.
Despite the title of his 1935 Dublin exhibition, this may be A Grey Day, Donegal, which Henry included in that exhibition. Gortahork is situated near the northern coast of County Donegal and the conical shaped mountain to the left hand side of the composition may be Errigal, which rises to a height of 2,466ft. The present work is numbered 1082 in S.B. Kennedy's forthcoming catalogue raisonné of Paul Henry's oeuvre.
