Amaury, of baluster shape, the cover set with a Shi-shi or lion finial, decorated with two large medallions enclosing contemporary Chinese scenes reserved against a light brown ground decorated with an intricate gilt pattern of bamboo shoots, a gilt and silvered dragon and lizard curling itself around the gilt cartouche, the sides each with four quatrefoil cartouches of birds in flight, the rim and lower section of the back of the vase set with red, blue and silver medallions enclosing insects and birds
