A champlevé enamel and copper reliquary casket, so-called "chasse" in Mosan 12th century style

The present casket incorporates Mosan and Limoges inspired elements. The scenes are taken from two Mosan plaques in the Louvre which were initially thought to have been part of a casket. These plaques, together with others in the Schnütgen Museum in Cologne, the Musée Dobrée in Nantes and private collections, were assembled together as a cross for the Rhein und Maas exhibition in 1973.
