Description

  • height 20.3cm
the body of squat gourd-shape raised on waisted foot rim, cast with peg, the neck enforced with bands, applied with straight, hexagonal spout with hinged cover, the domed lid with double hinge, scrolled strap handle, marked underneath the base and on the lid with an armorial shield charged with three eagles, inside of the lid struck with indistinct crowned Tudor rose maker's mark, also struck on the left side on the neck with proof marks for 95 and 98, black paint applied over rich grey varnish
