Catalogue Note
The Publication by B. Dubbe in 1975 lists four guild flagons by Engelbertus Moorrees (op.cit. pp. 60, 62, 64, 66) that all share numerous features with the present flagon, such as the overall shape, same style of engraving and horror vacui, also engraved over the hinge-pin with a sunburst. The comparison is so compelling that the present flagon may safely be attributed to this master.
