the raised centre cast with Pyramus and Thisbe by the mulberry tree, surrounded by the allegorical figures of the Four Elements, two bands of foliate scrolls and cartouches, plain cavetto, the rim cast with the Creation and the Story of Adam and Eve in six scenes, interspersed by masques within cartouches; the reverse engraved with the initials H.L.R., dark grey varnished patina
