the gourd-shaped body cast from two halves and turned with trumpet-shaped foot, engraved with concentric rings, traces of lightly engraved, foliate decoration, the domed lid struck with Fleur-de-Lys in groups of four, centred by an indistinct mark, the single hinge with double acorn thumb rest, the exterior of the strap handle also lightly engraved, the angular handle suspended from rods with shield-shaped terminals, medallion in bottom with single Fleur-de-Lys, grey varnished patina, excavated
