the elegant, baluster-shaped body cast from two halves, incorporating foot rim and applied with crosier-handle, cast on either side with a Fleur-de-Lys, the domed cover struck with an armorial shield and engraved with the gothic miniscule V, the thumb rest formed by two acorns, above single hinge, some pitting and abrasion, blackened surface, rich dark grey patina, excavated
