Catalogue Note
The dik-dik is a small antelope named for the sound it makes when alarmed. Living in the brush of southern and eastern Africa, the dik-dik stands 30-40 cm at the shoulder and weighs 3-5 kg. Despite its very large eyed gaze and delicate proportions, the dik-dik is a tougher creature than it appears, with razor sharp hoofs, which it has been known to use in defending itself from threatening predators.
