  • English, mid 18th to mid 19th centuries
comprising: three with gadrooned cushions and scroll handles, one mid 18th century, the cornelian matrix engraved with the arms of Acton, probably for Nathaniel Acton of Bramfield Hall, Suffolk, another with matrix engraved with the arms of Broke impaling Middleton for Sir Philip Bowes Vere Broke (1801-1841), height 3.5cm, the third with rock crystal matrix; three with foliate-chased cushions, two of which circa 1840, both with cornelian matrix engraved: Philip for either Sir Philip Bowes Vere Broke or more likely his eldest son, Sir Philip Broke (d. 1855); two tassel-form seals, circa 1780, one with cornelian matrix inscribed: P. Broke; and three urn-form seals, one with matrix engraved with the collar and motto of the Order of the Bath, another third quarter 18th century, its matrix engraved with the arms of Broke; with six additional seals, one silver
