After the original of circa 1649 today in the Hermitage, Saint Petersburg (reproduced in A. Blankert, Ferdinand Bol, Doornspijk 1982, p.141, no. 133, plate 142). The sitter was once thought to represent Ernestine (d.1668), daughter of the Prince Lamoral de Ligne-Siegen.
